NEWALTA

Newalta is Canada's leading industrial waste management and environmental services company. We push beyond conventional thinking about waste, finding solutions that transform it into new products that will contribute to our customer's bottom line and reduce the environmental footprint. Where by-product recovery isn't possible, we find ways to reduce the production of waste at the source.

NEW ERA TECHNOLOGIES

New Era Technologies have been in the composting business since the early 1990’s and as well as having comprehensive design/build experience, we have many years of operating and maintenance experience. Additionally, our team has carried out extensive laboratory and field research to find better and less complicated methods to manufacture high quality compost.

Because of our background and experience, we have joined forces with HotRot Exports of Christchurch, New Zealand and we are excited to represent the very revolutionary HotRot composting Systems. Visit www.hotrotsystems.com

Research carried out by New Era’s technical staff and the technical staff at HotRot have concluded and proven that there is a much better, more effective approach to composting than has ever been done in the past. Composting as a human activity has been around for millennia.

The new thing in composting is a shift from bottom-of-the-garden to an industrial scale.

This shift requires appropriate engineering and process control to ensure that composting is rapid, uniform, and that the resulting product meets standards.

Working toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy future
We’ve been Nova Scotia's main electricity provider for more than 80 years. Our customers have always looked to us to provide electricity that’s safe and reliable. But you’ve told us you want more than that. We’re listening.

More electricity from cleaner, greener sources
More than 10 per cent of the electricity Nova Scotians use every day comes from renewable sources. Our goal? Double that amount by 2013. We’re also using technology to reduce sulphur dioxide, nitrogen oxide and mercury emissions at our power plants.

Helping you use less
We want to help you conserve energy and use it more efficiently. It can be as easy as lowering your home’s temperature by five to 10 degrees at night or when no one is home. This alone could cut your heating costs by up to 20 per cent a year.
