SCOTIAN WINDFIELDS INC.
Scotian WindFields Inc (SWFI) is a developer and operator of a wide range renewable energy projects. SWFIs close association with the 8 community owned CEDIF corporations operating under the Scotian WindFields banner has led to an unprecedented focus on developing community based renewable energy projects that best benefit Nova Scotians.
SWFI is involved with the development of traditional large scale wind farms, however SWFIs niche market is development of smaller scale in-side the fence renewable energy projects. These in-side the fence projects involve installation of a wind turbine and/or solar thermal system to provide renewable energy directly to a energy user onsite. This model can be applied to commercial facilities (eg. large big-box stores, warehouses), industrial facilities, (eg. factories, manufacturers), and public infrastructure facilities (water treatment, waste management etc). The results of these projects are lower energy costs for the user and decreased GHG emissions for our environment. SWFI is currently working with potential users and designers to incorporate these projects all around Nova Scotia.
With innovative applications and community ownership of renewable energy, SWFI aims to play an important role in helping Nova Scotia meet its GHG Emission reduction targets for 2020.
